An old family tradition
The Hotel Giorgione was built during the beginning of 1800 with the name Hostaria, when the family, that still today owns the hotel, decided to transform the sweets warehouse into a Locanda (or Inn). Around 1890, with the purchase of a neighboring house, the inn became Albergo Giorgione that, with constant enlargements and renovations, is what it is today, an elegant 4 star hotel.
Despite the renovations and technological innovationsHotel Giorgione remained strongly tied to tradition and is, like it once was, a hospitable home, thanks to the care and passion of the family that owns it (and that directly manages it as well). The owner’s first concern is to make the guests feel right at home.
The age-old Hostaria remained as a typical facility, right next to the hotel, where a great kitchen offers Venetian specialties.
Located in a peaceful area of the Cannaregio district, named by the Canal Regio that connects the Grand Canal to the Laguna, close to the very old church of Santi Apostoli, built on the site where the Apostles appeared (only 5 minutes from Rialto and 10 from San Marco), theHotel Giorgione is the only hotel in Venice - historic residence, that is part of the exclusive “Abitare la Storia” club. This society unites all period residences that are transformed into prestigious historic hotels located in the historic centers and countrysides all over Italy.
